Hello Friends!
Some of you have been with me since I started this blog in 2008. I was living in Omaha and created a blog for my book club. I'm so grateful for my book blogging years and the memories I often share with friends and family.
I have also been able to share years of travel adventures, training for marathons, an ultra, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and hiking in the Himalayas for a milestone birthday. Then I took a break when we moved to northern Virginia in 2019.
Two years ago, I took a leap and left my corporate career and became a yoga teacher.
Today, I run a small business called Lakeside Namaste. Some may call it a passion project, but we are doing wonderful things!
My goals with Lakeside Namaste are twofold:
- To build a community: While caretaking for my dad, I learned how quickly mobility can be lost for good. This created a shift, and I became passionate about caring for our bodies as we age. Aging is natural, but stiffness doesn't have to be part of the aging process. I love hearing your stories of how yoga has improved your daily life.
- Giving back: I donate most of my time to teaching and raising money for the community. We have raised almost $7,000 in 18 months since starting Lakeside Namaste.
Looking ahead
This is where we can help each other. I would love for you to visit my business website, Lakeside Namaste, and follow along. I'm trying to see if my business idea resonates with people over 50. To discover if there is interest in building a community that embraces what is available to us today. For free!
