👋 Welcome!
Thanks for stopping by. This archive is home to my book reviews, author interviews, and travel writing from an earlier chapter of my life.

I'm writing again.
I'd love to have you join me at Mari Writes Things Down , where I share the books I'm reading, reflections from yoga, and life by the lake.

One More Chapter

Hello, friends.

If you've been reading here for a while, thank you.

Some of you have been around since I started this little blog in 2008. Together we've shared books, author interviews, travel adventures, marathon training, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, hiking in the Himalayas, and all the unexpected turns life has taken along the way.

A few years ago, I wrote about leaving my corporate career to become a yoga teacher and launching a small business called Lakeside Namaste. At the time, I had no idea where that decision would lead. Looking back, I could never have imagined what would happen next.

Lakeside Namaste has become a small but mighty community. We've practiced together hundreds of times, welcomed new friends, celebrated changing seasons, and raised more than $10,000 to give back to our local community. Watching that community grow has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Through all of it, one thing never changed. I never stopped reading. Books have always been part of my life. They continue to inspire me, challenge me, and occasionally stay with me long after I've turned the final page.

Lately, though, I've realized something. I miss writing and sharing with you.

Not because I want to return to what this blog once was, but because I want a place to capture the things that linger—a wonderful book, a conversation after yoga class, a quiet morning by the lake, or an ordinary moment that somehow becomes unforgettable.

So I've started a new publication called Mari Writes Things Down. It's a place where reading, yoga, and everyday life naturally come together.

You'll still find me talking about books. Some posts will share what I'm reading, others will be reflections from teaching yoga, and some will simply be about life by the lake and the small moments that are worth writing down.

If you've enjoyed following along over the years, I'd love to have you join me for this next chapter.

Thank you for reading my words over the years.

Whether you've been here since my first book reviews in 2008 or found this blog yesterday through a Google search, I'm grateful our paths crossed.

I hope we'll continue the conversation.

Warmly, Mari
